Minneapolis Love Child, 2016

IMG_3376

Two women, one red-haired and one with dreads, stare lovingly into each other’s eyes, celebrating the new life growing in one.

The t-shirt on the right figure is based on this historic t-shirt from the Tretter Collection.

Prints, stickers, t-shirts, bags, and phone cases available at RedBubble.

Here is a gallery of process photos. You will see the base collage, the initial finding of an image, my girlfriend and I attempting a model selfie, my helper, and the painting developing. Wait till the end to see the surprising backside of “Minneapolis Love Child” (I found the wood base for this painting at a thrift store. I liked the back side more than the front, so I did not paint over the original poster.)
